CHICAGO – State Senator Willie Preston (D-Chicago) released the following statement following destructive storms that pummeled much of Chicago:
“The severe storms that moved through our area Tuesday left significant damage, with powerful winds, reported tornadoes, flooding, blocked roads, downed trees and power outages.
“I’m grateful to the first responders, utility crews and local workers who have been clearing debris, restoring power and keeping our communities safe. I encourage everyone to look out for their neighbors and lend a hand where they can as cleanup continues.
“I remain in contact with local officials as recovery efforts continue. With the possibility of more severe weather this week, please stay alert, stay safe and continue looking out for one another.”
